April is the Month of the Military Family in Florida! The Month of the Military Family provides communities with an opportunity to honor and share gratitude for the service of military children. This year, we invite you to “Purple Up!” on April 15, 2026, by wearing purple as a visible way to show support and thank military children. Purple was chosen because it is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military. It is a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine Corps red, Space Force blue and Navy blue. Students and staff in schools across Florida are encouraged to participate in this celebration of the courage of military families and to honor their hard work.

Seniors: Pre-ordered caps and gowns will be available for pick up tomorrow during both lunches. If you have not ordered yours, some will be available for purchase. First come, first served.

With no start-up funds to get the celebration started, The Church of the Lakes has donated $1000 to the cenetennial fund and challenges all area churches to match it! Good News Church was the first to meet the challenge! Will your church be next? ##LHS100YEARS

Congratulations to the first 2 senior Thespians to ever compete at the International Thespians Society competition representing Leesburg High School.
Helena Dinehart and Isabella Ritter received and Excellent rating at the largest State Thespian competition in the World, with over 9,000 students.
To achieve the honor of an invitation, they both had to earn their way into the Thespians honor society, of which they both hold high honors and are our chapters President and Vice President.
Then they competed in the district festival and sang their way into highest ranking of Superior, with a duet Dance with You from the musical The Prom. This qualified them to represent us in the state completion where they received an Excellent rating.
We couldn’t be more proud of these wonderful seniors and for Mrs. Padilla's hours of work in the program.
