Ms. Doreen Elder

Ms. Elder, Assistant Principal

Doreen Elder is Groveland Elementary's newest Assistant Principal.   Doreen Elder began her career with Lake County Schools as a substitute teacher which led to over 20 years of service. Ms. Elder received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University.

Ms. Elder went on to receive her master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University.  She has served Lake County students in various roles such as a teaching assistant, teacher, instructional coach, and most recently, Curriculum Resource Teacher at Groveland Elementary School. During this time, Ms. Elder served on numerous district and school leadership and committee positions. Ms. Elder was Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2004 and in 2020 she was selected as one of the three finalists to represent Lake County as Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Elder is the mother of four children all of whom attended Lake County Schools. She is a proud resident of South Lake County and has committed her professional career to the students of Groveland Elementary School. Ms. Elder looks forward to continuing to serve families, students and staff.
